BOBBEE BEE: BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING YOU!!

We, at Blackathlete.com, decided to re-publish this article, especially with the recent controversy surrounding whistleblower Edward Snowden, a former C.I.A. technician working for the military firm Booz Allen Hamilton under NSA contract, who revealed the government’s mega surveillance of the U.S. public.

NORTH CAROLINA (BASN) -The private lives of public figures have been invaded by paparazzi for years and some think they caused the death of Princess Diana. But now, we have become our own worst enemies with all of these cell phones, camera phones, Twitter accounts, blogs, FaceBooks, MySpace, and YouTubing.

But, seriously, the Black consciousness community has been dealing with the invasion of privacy since the time of slavery as well as in the 1960′s with the help of the FBI's CoIntel Pro.

But, for this new generation of tech-savvy information collecting gurus, it’s an all new ball game, as we watch drones fly over our heads, airport security tighten, and cameras  placed in the classrooms of schools as well as on the  school buses.

Haven’t  we learned anything from seeing Will Smith running in the movie Enemy of the State?

Haven’t we seen the movie Eagle Eyes?

That stuff is real.

Just try using Google Map or Google Search, you can track and find anybody?

By the way, isn’t twittering simply an up-dated version of celebrity -stalking. I know, I might seem a little paranoid.

But honestly, I think, it’s the DEATH OF PRIVACY.

Big Brother is really watching us all.

Collecting telephone records of millions of Verizon customers under a secret court order;
* Operating a top-secret program, PRISM, gaining access to the servers of nine major internet companies, including Google, Microsoft, Apple, Yahoo! and Facebook;
* Under order by President Obama to list possible overseas targets for cyber-attacks by the U.S.;
* Carrying out a data-mining program, Boundless Informant that details and maps, by country, billions of pieces of U.S. and overseas computer and telephone network data.

Yeah, Big Brother is watching us all.

I am not kidding.

CBS was even bold enough to create a show entitled Big Brother which contestants stay in a house under 24-hour surveillance for a cash prize.

George Orwell predicted it all in his novel 1984.

Don’t you remember the1998 movie The Truman Show starring Jim Carrey in which he played a character named Truman Eubanks, who discovers he is living in a constructed reality soap opera, televised 24/7 to billions across the globe.

Oddly Science Fiction is Scientific Fact.

Because after the success of MTV’s Real World, where most of the Black participants were usually kicked off the show, Hollywood executives decided to encouraged so-called celebrities and Black athletes to allow cameras to follow them and record their daily lives and activities for these so-called “reality shows.”

Former Buffalo Bills wide receiver Terrell Owens did it for VH-1.

PrimeTime Neon Deon tried it.

Hip-hop legend Rev.Run was “Down with it” for MTV.

Philadelphia Eagles (QB) Mike Vick made us almost believe it on BET.

And recently, former athletes like baseball star Darryl Strawberry, Olympic Track-Star Michael Johnson, Heisman Trophy winner Herschel Walker, NBA Hall of famer Dennis Rodman and Heavyweight Boxing Champion Lenox Lewis even allowed themselves to be fired for it on Donald Trump’s successful reality show the Apprentice.

But Hall of Famer Michael Irvin however went a step further in his reality show on Spike TV entitled 4th and Long by given one football hopeful a shot to play for the Dallas Cowboys.
But isn’t anything sacred anymore?

 Because now VH-1 has teamed up with the wives and girlfriends of some of the NBA’s most elite players to give the viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the glamorous life of a professional basketball player’s wife in VH1′s original series, “Basketball Wives, which will feature Shaunie O’Neal, the ex-wife of Shaquille O’Neal.”

But with all of these cameras and easy access to technology at our fingertips, somebody is bound to get caught on candid camera doing something they have no business doing like former Boston Celtic guard Stephon Marbury, who was seen eating Vaseline on YouTube.

But let’s not forget about the incident involving Denver Nuggets’ Carmelo Anthony, who was captured hanging on the corner with his friends on a NO SNITCHIN’ video in his hometown of Baltimore. Or Washington Wizards Josh Howard, who was also captured on somebody’s camera phone at Allen Iverson’s celebrity All Star game bragging about not singing the National Anthem which “pissed off” some patriotic NBA fans.

Now,with so many people with camera phones, they have become worst than a team of TMZ camera men, just ask Cleveland Cavalier Shaquille O’Neal, who was caught dissing former Laker teammate Kobe Bryant at a night club by one party goer.

But the injured prone Portland Trailblazer center and first overall pick from the 2007 NBA Draft Greg Oden created his own media frenzy by taking a nude picture of himself with his cellphone while exposing his penis, which unfortunately was leaked on the internet by one of his ex-girlfriend.
Unfortunately, ex-Minnesota Vikings (QB) Brett Favre didn’t learn anything from Oden’s little technology blunder and neither did New York Congressman Anthony Weiner. And let’s not forget about Bishop Eddie Long’s too tight muscle shirt and speedos.

As you see, sadly with all of this technology, America is nothing but a nation of sex, lies, and videotapes. Just ask New Orleans Saint (RB) Reggie Bush, whose ex-girlfriend Kim Kardashian, who has her own reality show Keeping up with the Kardashian became famous due to a sex tape involving another Reality TV star R&B singer Ray J.

I hate to call these bumbling idiots…..stars

Because when ESPN sideline reporter Erin Andrews was violated by a high tech peeping Tom, who videotaped her in the nude from a hotel peep hole and circulated them on the Internet, things became criminal.

As you can see, you have to be careful in this BRAVE NEW WORLD, cause somebody could be watching you when you least expect it , just ask New England Patriots’ head coach Bill Bela-cheat who was fined the NFL maximum of $500,000 and was ordered to pay $250,000 for spying on an opponent’s defensive signals?

 So remember this brothers and sisters, Big Brother is watching you…so don’t make a fool of yourself while on camera.

 Cause they can see you……
